DOT Error Correction Training with Coach T
Error Correction Training is designed for collectors who have been notified that an error made during a DOT specimen collection resulted in a canceled test or requires corrective training.
Under 49 CFR Part 40.33, a collector who makes an error that causes a test to be canceled must complete the required error correction training within 30 days of being notified of the error.
This training is conducted live via Zoom with Coach T, Owner of JACE Laboratories & Screening and Founder of LabFoundersHQ.
The training focuses specifically on the area in which the error occurred and gives the collector an opportunity to demonstrate that the collection process can be performed correctly before returning to normal collection duties.
Training Includes
- 3 consecutive error-free mock collections
- 1 uneventful collection scenario
- 2 mock scenarios related to the specific error area(s)
Examples of collection errors may include issues involving the Custody and Control Form, specimen seals, specimen identification, insufficient specimen volume, leakage, documentation errors, or other collection-process mistakes that result in the test being canceled or rejected.

Before your training can be completed, you must provide the Error Correction form or documentation you received from the laboratory, MRO, or other applicable testing authority identifying the error that requires correction.

The documentation allows Coach T to structure your mock scenarios around the specific error that resulted in the corrective-training requirement.
Because Error Correction Training is time-sensitive, please schedule your session as soon as possible after receiving notification so the training can be completed within the required timeframe.
